Each of us has the capability to create wealth in our lives. It’s the plan and the action that separates the “I wish I could‘s” from the “Look what I did‘s”!
Women have come a long way in a relatively short time. Sexism, although still present, is not as prevalent as it was in our mother’s and grandmother’s time. Today one of the biggest growing demographics for small to medium sized business owners are women.
A lot of women who are thinking about starting a small business are excited by the prospect but don’t know where to start. This is a common theme at my workshops. If you’re in this position, you’re not alone.
If you’re struggling with this, start with your financial conditioning. Your psychology regarding money constantly impacts your decisions. So before you begin make sure you “get right” with how you perceive money and the role it plays in your life.
We have powerful internal voices chattering at us about money. Negative thoughts overpower motivation. We become trapped in a make spend cycle, which leads no where. If you have a negative view when it comes to finances, your bank account probably reflects it. It’s time to recondition your wiring and gain a positive attitude about money.
So where do you start?
How will you know what you need to do if you don’t know where you are? Set aside the time to figure out your financial baseline. This information is critical. It’s your financial fingerprint. Pull together all the facts.
Things might be better or worse than you thought but the point is you now have the information you need to make a change. You’ve crunched your numbers, now get real. What do you want? How much do you want? When do you want to get there? That’s setting your Financial Freedom Day. It’s your declaration of independence. Be specific.
Now you have a true starting point. You know where you are and you know where you want to be. What you need now is a solid plan — the “how you get there.” Each of us has the capability to create wealth in our lives. It’s the plan and the action that separates the “I wish I could‘s” from the “Look what I did‘s”!
